Ok…LET’S START AT THE ROOTS
OF MARXISM AND CRT
Believe it or not, many “educated” intellectuals assert that math, science, and English are tacitly racist and therefore should not be strictly relied on to assess intellectual acuity or accuracy! Supposedly, these ancient subjects (both math and science dating back to BC, and English dating back to the 5th century) are works of “White racist” academics and therefore infused with “supremacy” specifically designed to undermine Black development.That viewpoint asserts: Whenever any the presumed racists provide academic works, we must automatically assume the works are aiming to undermine Blacks and are certainly infused with supremacist ideas and suppositions that relegate Blacks into perpetual oppression. Any subjects or ideologies undergirded with any oppressive underpinnings must be rejected.
Moreover, children need to be sensitized about and warned against the dangers of the works, ideas, and subjects – students must not be educated by them. This new paradigm posits any White racist intellectual works, irrespective of how societies may have advanced from them, must be rejected because of presumed oppressive harms the respective works inflict on Blacks. While these mindsets may seem illogical, completely dismissing those who proffer these ideals may not be the best way to address our current cultural divide. While we may not agree, in the spirit of trying to build cultural cooperation, perhaps we should consider and appropriately apply these ideals, at least in this instance.
To be fair and factual, math and science were first developed by Greeks and Egyptians respectively (and these ethnicities are notably “people of color”). In addition, it was initially Scandinavian and Anglo-Saxon people, with strong influences from the French, who developed English with seemingly no animus toward Africans/Blacks.
Moreover, most people would find it preposterous to hear people asserting math, science and English were purposely designed as racist and oppressive. Historical evidence suggests these early thinkers and writers were people looking to understand their world and address the unfolding scientific or societal problems. No evidence suggests these people were all White, racist, or motivated to oppress people of color (or were even at all sensitive to any such notions)!
History does confirm some inconvenient facts about some White racist academics whose works and deeds were infused with “supremacy” – and these have escaped severe scrutiny by the “anti-racists.” Prime examples: the racist machinations of Charles Darwin (evolutionary theories characterized Blacks as apes and savages); Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels (characterized Blacks and Hispanics using grotesquely disparaging slurs and tropes). Staying true to the current paradigm of maligning and rejecting all the works of racist, White supremacist people, shouldn’t we certainly wholly reject the embrace of Darwinism and Marxism when we confirm they were racist and encouraged schemes that oppress Blacks?
Darwin’s White supremacy and racist bigotry were quite evident when he compared White Europeans as closest to the angels. At the same time, Black Africans and Aborigines were closest to the apes, and “savages!” Further, Darwin opined, “Blacks those magnificent examples of the African race who have maintained their racial purity thanks to their lack of an affinity with bathing…” Without doubt Darwin’s statements are gross, derogatory, racist, and supremacist!
Marx and Engels prided themselves as protégés’ of Darwin’s, so it is not surprising to see their commentaries are also quite racist and offensive. To be sure, Engels wrote that Blacks were closer to “the animal kingdom” than the rest of humanity, even as he described his mixed-race son-in-law, Paul. Engels claimed that Paul had “one eighth or one-twelfth nigger blood.” In an April 1887 letter to Paul’s wife, Engels wrote:
Being in his quality as a nigger, a degree nearer to the rest of the animal kingdom than the rest of us, he is undoubtedly the most appropriate representative of that district.
Mars, writing to Engels about a Socialist colleague, wrote:
It is now completely clear to me that he, as is proved by his cranial formation and his hair, descends from the Negroes who had joined Moses’ exodus from Egypt, assuming that his mother or grandmother on the paternal side had not interbred with a nigger. Now this union of Judaism and Germanism with a basic Negro substance must produce a peculiar product.
How can the self-proclaimed “anti-racists” overlook look these remarks from these Socialist academics? How can they instead herald these two, and follow their works in almost every arena of life, knowing they were manifestly White supremacist, racist and hateful?
The truth is known. All of these men were not just racists, supremacists, and hateful, they were stridently oppressive toward Blacks. Darwin, Marx, Engels (as well as their cultural Marxist following intellectuals Max Horkheimer, Theodor Adorno, Herbert Marcuse and Friedrich Pollock who pioneered the U.S based Frankfurt School, and also CRT) were strident eugenicists who believed in persevering a “pure” Aryan lineage. These people viewed Blacks as inferior and wholly expendable! Imagine that: The people who pioneered Darwinism, Marxism, and Critical Race theory were hateful racists who had specific designs on exterminating or oppressing Blacks! These facts are undoubtedly pretty inconvenient for those profiting from Marxist “anti-racist” teachings and Marxist revolutionary movements (like BLM). So instead of “social practitioners” (including educators, Clergy, media, activists, politicians, and “leaders” in any arena) constantly preening about their levels or degrees of “wokeness,” they’ll now be forced to confirm consistency against racism by altogether rejecting Marxism and CRT…Will they?
Suppose we are sincere and consistent about our intention and designs to reject all those who are proven to be racist, White supremacist, and oppressive. In that case, we must immediately reject all forms of Darwinism, Marxism, and Critical Race Theory! Based on their words and deeds, these men hated and wanted to oppress Blacks. Therefore, our children should be taught to loath them, not praise and follow them, right?
What is the answer? We have two options. We can agree to halt the hyper-sensitive, hyperbolic “cancel culture” that turns everything into somehow being racist. Or we can lean into it and agree, by saying we must immediately universally agree to cancel Darwin, Marx, CRT and allaccoutrements surrounding these people and institutions!
We cannot have it both ways. We must never stand for hypocrisy and duplicity. Our national heritage, our children, our communities, and our very souls are at stake…. So, it’s time to make it real: Which option will it be?
