Bio

Bill Kennedy says 1 John 2:15-17 describes him best before God broke him.  A  Christian with one foot in the world and one in the church is most miserable.  God allowed him to achieve all of his dreams but never stability or peace of mind.  Sometimes God allows achievement to show us HE is the author of Joy.

As publisher of Conservative Digest, it was exciting to live out his dream to play a role in helping President Reagan win the cold war.  His relationship with the President helped with informing his base to the importance of objectives likes SDI.

Bill co-authored a book A Taxpayer Survey of the Grace Commission which condensed a 49,000 page report commissioned by President Reagan, which sold over 700,000 copies in an effort to stem federal spending.

But Bill’s arrogance caused his fast-growing business to crumble into bankruptcy.  However, through his work for the Kuwait government in lobbying for Desert Storm, he was able to bring the business out of Chapter 11 with a plan to repay 100% of the losses.  Still he was indicted, convicted and sentenced to 20 years in a federal prison.   Bill says it was a blessing because this is where He came know God and where God revealed Bill to Bill. God showed Bill who was the author of Joy and that being grateful was the key to happiness.  God used his life impacting many of the men because of his attitude.

He credits Dr. Tim LaHaye for this as he mentored Bill through phone calls and visits.  Dr. LaHaye dedicated the 30th addition of his book How to Study the Bible to Bill and also includes a chapter on Bill’s ministry.   It was in great pain and disappointment that God taught Bill to Suffer Joyfully.

Bill is blessed with an incredible wife of 42 years who waited faithfully for over 17 years.  They have three grown children who are in living in God’s will and six beautiful grandchildren.
