- Founded Citizens for Self-Governance (CSG) and launch a class-action lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service. The IRS had unlawfully target Tea Party groups, and Mark led the only successful class-action lawsuit against the IRS to make targeted victims whole.
- While battling the IRS, he joined with Michael Farris to found Convention of States Action and expand CSG’s education initiatives with the Convention of States Foundation. An Article V Convention of States allows the states to come together to propose constitutional amendments that limit federal power and spending, and impose term limits on federal officials.
- Founded in 2013, the Convention of States movement has grown under Mark’s leadership to five million supporters and 15 states that have called for a Convention. It takes 34 states to call a Convention of States, so the effort is nearly halfway complete.
- Today, Mark remains as committed as ever to calling a Convention of States. But he’s also using his experience as an internet lawyer and organization leader to help Parler get back on its feet after it was shut down by Big Tech.

Mark Meckler is the President and co-founder of Convention of States Action, the largest nationwide movement seeking to call the first-ever Article V Convention of States.
Mark is one of the nation’s most effective grassroots activists. After he co-founded and was the national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots, he founded Citizens for Self-Governance to revolutionize American government. Founded in February 2012, this grassroots initiative expands and directs the ever-growing, bipartisan self-governance movement. Mark appears regularly on wide variety of television outlets, including MSNBC, ABC, NBC, Fox News, CNN, Bloomberg, Fox Business and the BBC. He is the co-author of “Tea Party Patriots: The Second American Revolution,” and writes regularly on Breitbart, the American Spectator, and SelfGovern.com. He also is an attorney who specializes in internet privacy law.

WHY CALL AN ARTICLE V CONVENTION?

WHAT IS AN ARTICLE V CONVENTION ANYWAY?
Article V of the U.S. Constitution gives states the power to call a convention to propose amendments. It takes 34 states to call the convention and 38 to ratify any amendments that are proposed. Our convention would only allow the states to discuss amendments that, “limit the power and jurisdiction of the federal government, impose fiscal restraints, and place term limits on federal officials.”
