Documentary Series About the Reformation to Air on Public Television

The Three Part Series Commemorates the 500th Anniversary of the Protestant Reformation

This Changed EverythingWorcester, PA, November 30, 2016 | TruthPR.com | -  A new three part documentary series, The Reformation: This Changed Everything will be broadcast on select public television stations beginning December, 2016. American Public Television, a leading syndicator of public television programming is offering the series to the approximately 360 PBS affiliate stations nationwide. The Reformation: This Changed Everything details the history and analyzes the legacy of the Protestant Reformation, a movement which forever changed the religious, political and cultural landscape of the Western World. Produced by Christian History Institute in association with Global Story2 Films, Lathika International Film and Entertainment, and Midgett Productions, the series was developed in anticipation of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation’s start, October 31, 2017. On that date in 1517, five hundred years ago, Martin Luther famously nailed his 95 theses to the door of the Cathedral Church in Wittenberg, Germany.

Shot at key locations across Europe, The Reformation: This Changed Everything is a visually rich, dynamic documentary series written by Emmy award-winning screenwriter Linda Midgett and narrated by acclaimed British actor David Suchet (Agatha Christie’s Poirot). This fast-paced documentary takes a journalistic look at the major characters and ideas of a tumultuous period, in European history. The series features a diverse array of scholars and presents a mix of Protestant and Catholic voices candidly discussing the theological and political issues surrounding the Reformation.

Over 20 expert commentators appear in the series including: Bishop Robert Baron, of Los Angeles and host of the recent television series, Catholicism. Other commentators include: Dr. Joel Harrington of Vanderbilt University, Dr. Michael Horton, Westminster Theological Seminary, Dr. Jacqueline Rose, University of St. Andrews, Shane Claiborne, founder of The Simple Way, Mark Galli, editor of Christianity Today and, the Very Reverend Fr. Thomas Baima, Vicar of Ecumenism at the University of St. Mary on the Lake.

Vision Video has released the series on DVD and Video on Demand, under the title, This Changed Everything: 500 Years of the Reformation. It is currently available via their website, www.visionvideo.com,  through the series’ official website, and through online as well as store retailers nationwide.
