WASHINGTON, DC, April 24, 2017 | TruthPR.com | — Juliana Taimoorazy, founder and president of Iraqi Christian Relief Council and a senior fellow at the Philos Project, today remembered the Holocaust and the Armenian Genocide.
"Today, April 24th, is the day we pause to remember both the Holocaust, the genocide of the Jews in Nazi Europe and the 102nd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, where millions of Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks were slaughtered en-mass by Ottoman authorities. My own great-grandfather, Qashisha Givargis Oushana Yadgar (Father George) led his family and congregation on foot from Iran to Russia to escape slaughter by the Turkish and Kurdish forces. When these atrocities occurred there was no twitter. There were no tomahawk missiles. Today the US and our allies have knowledge of the genocide perpetrated by ISIS in Iraq and Syria and we have the tools to end it. Unfortunately, the Obama administration watched as ISIS committed genocide on innocent children, women and men, thousands of whom are still enslaved by ISIS today. I, and the entire Assyrian-American community, applaud President Trump and his administration for the steps already taken in their first 100 days in office and implore them to continue until the job is done and all who are held by ISIS are freed and all who have been displaced by ISIS can return home and rebuild their lives."
