National Day of MourningAtlanta, GA | August 31, 2019 | — We have come today; by bus, by car, by plane and by foot, to mourn the loss of our aborted children; and to pray for solutions for a better tomorrow

I woke up this morning with my mind stayed on freedom. Today we teach, preach and we’re going to reach America with this truth. Life is a civil right; abortion is a civil wrong.

Oh Freedom, lift every voice and sing about this little light of mine, the light of the babies in the womb must live. These freedom songs are as old as slavery; yet are as fresh today in the battle to protect human life. Today we sing let freedom ring for the babies. We must end legal abortion and make all abortion unthinkable. God help us! We know that abortion is a civil wrong. Forgive us Lord. Help us to proclaim that life is a civil right.

Earlier this month, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) filed H.R. 4169, the “Religious Freedom Peace Tax Fund Act.” The bill would allow taxpayers “who are conscientiously opposed to participation in war” to send their tax dollars to a separate fund that would spend the revenue on non-military purposes. Yet the same Democrat also opposes the Hyde Amendment, which prevents taxpayers from being forced to fund abortion.

In other words, he wants religious freedom for taxpayers if they disagree with funding the U.S. military, but not if they disagree with funding the killing of an unborn baby in the womb. How does that compute?

“Taxpayers Should Be Able to Opt Out of Funding Military But Not Abortion,” Rep. John Lewis says.

We must remind Congressman Lewis, Stacy Abrams, the Congressional Black Caucus, all minority leaders, and indeed all people of Goodwill that we are one blood, one human race. We all bleed the same. That includes the babies in the womb.

We are not colorblind. We are praying with our eyes wide open.

So today, as Executive Director of Civil Rights for The Unborn, I join The Restoration Project, The Douglass Leadership Institute, Black and Brown Americans In Search of the American Dream, and all people of Good will as we mourn with Rachel, for the loss of our aborted children. May God bless us today, and hear from Heaven and heal our land.

Pray for America.
