Founder & Executive Director, Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH)

Dr. Torsten Trey, M.D., Ph.D. is the founder and Executive Director of Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH), a Washington, D.C.-based medical ethics NGO that unites physicians worldwide to document unethical transplant practices and advocate for reform. He founded DAFOH in 2006 and has since become a leading researcher, author, and expert on forced organ harvesting.

Dr. Trey co-edited the landmark book State Organs: Transplant Abuse in China and has authored numerous articles in medical and ethics journals. He has briefed policymakers, spoken at international forums, and appeared in documentaries including Human Harvest.

DAFOH’s efforts have earned Nobel Peace Prize nominations and major human rights awards for highlighting the global implications of China’s transplant system. His decade-long project culminated in the May 2026 release of the documentary Silent Harvest: The Courage to Speak Up. Dr. Trey is available to speak on the evidence behind forced organ harvesting, the implications for U.S.–China relations, and what American lawmakers, hospitals, and patients must do to avoid complicity.
