Bio for Eric Lionheart

Eric Lionheart is a decorated Air Force veteran and elite Combat Controller who earned two Bronze Stars—one with Valor—for heroism in a four-hour Afghanistan firefight, saving his Special Forces team’s lives.

He joined the Air Force in 1998 as Security Forces, completed rigorous two-year CCT training, and deployed with the 321st Special Tactics Squadron from RAF Mildenhall, UK, providing critical close air support.​

Post-service, Eric earned an MBA (2015), served as a Texas Senate policy analyst, worked at Texas HHS, ran for Congress (TX-28, 2022), and consulted for businesses before founding The First There Foundation in 2021—a 501(c)(3) aiding Combat Controllers (expanded 2025 to all veterans, first responders, allies, and families) after losing teammates to suicide.

Based in Austin, TX, his mission: “Save at least one life yearly” via lasting holistic support.
